PUCEST protect solves acute wear problems: Innovative lining of an elevator rotary distributor ensures clean material flow and longer service lifePUCEST protect, the specialist for high-performance wear protection solutions, has once again demonstrated its expertise in optimizing systems. A project with a customer impressively demonstrated how a serious wear problem on a critical plant component, a rotary elevator distributor, was quickly and sustainably resolved.
Initial situation: Massive wear leads to production downtime
The customer was confronted with a heavily worn rotary distributor that already had holes in it. In addition, the elevator discharge was unprotected, which led to considerable material leakage. The material not only fell out of the distributor, but also contaminated the conveyor belt below, which massively increased the maintenance effort and impaired the efficiency of the entire system. There was an urgent need for action to ensure continuous operation.
Solution: Dismantling and custom-fit lining with PUCEST
The installation team from PUCEST protect analyzed the situation on site and developed a tailor-made solution. First, the old, worn steel lining was carefully dismantled. The real innovation lay in the subsequent new lining, in which two different PUCEST materials were combined:
- Extensive wear protection: The main surfaces of the rotary distributor were lined with 10 mm thick PUCEST sheets in 85 Shore. This material offers high elasticity and excellent abrasion resistance to minimize frictional wear.
- Protection of the impact zones: PUCEST SZ sheets were also used at the particularly exposed impact points where the material strikes at high speed. These panels have been specially developed for areas subject to high mechanical stress and offer superior protection against impact and shock wear.
Result: Perfect material flow and sustainable increase in efficiency
Thanks to the professional installation and the use of the combined PUCEST materials, the problems with the rotary distributor have now been completely eliminated. The material no longer falls out of the distributor in an uncontrolled manner and the conveyor belt remains clean. The new lining not only ensures a trouble-free material flow, but also significantly extends the service life of the rotary distributor.
This project underlines the flexibility and effectiveness of PUCEST products. Through the targeted combination of different materials, a tailor-made solution could be realized that addressed the individual weak points of the system. The result is a perfectly protected plant section that increases productivity, reduces maintenance costs and increases operational safety.
