The safe disposal of hazardous waste is crucial to protecting our environment from toxic substances. The proper treatment of these dangerous materials requires special facilities that meet the highest environmental and safety standards. When designing and operating such facilities, every detail counts—especially the choice of the right materials for transfer points.

The challenge: Chemical resistance and abrasion resistance

Hazardous substances and special waste must be collected and transported in special, chemical-resistant containers. At transfer points, such as hoppers, the lining material is exposed to extreme stresses: aggressive chemicals, abrasive substances, and potentially high temperatures. Conventional materials are often not sufficiently resistant and pose a safety risk.

The solution: highly resistant lining with PUCEST HR panels

PUCEST protect GmbH has supplied a tailor-made solution for lining hoppers at transfer points for hazardous waste disposal. The choice fell on PUCEST HR (High Resistance) panels, which were specially developed for such demanding applications.

The HR plate is characterized by the following superior properties:

  • Increased chemical and hydrolysis resistance: The material resists aggressive substances and is insensitive to reactions with water.
  • Resistance to salts, soda, and hot water/steam: The plate retains its integrity even under extreme conditions.
  • Resistance to microbiological attacks: The material is resistant to degradation by microorganisms.
  • Customizable hardness: Available in Shore hardnesses from 60 A to 95 A to optimally adapt to the respective mechanical requirements.

Both parts of the funnel were professionally lined with highly resistant HR plate, which was mounted on a base made of robust stainless steel.

The result: Maximum safety and durability
Lining the hoppers with PUCEST® HR panels ensures a long-lasting, durable surface that meets the high demands of hazardous waste disposal. It guarantees that hazardous substances are safely conveyed without damaging the plant or increasing the risk of leakage.

This project demonstrates PUCEST protect's expertise in sustainably increasing the safety and longevity of critical industrial plants through innovative solutions tailored to specific needs.
